Jennifer Ingram: Elementary/ Event Director
Growing up I loved doing Dot-to-Dot worksheets; watching the picture develop out of all those dots as I connected them was always so exciting. Now that I’m older I still love the Dot-to-Dot, but it’s not worksheets anymore it’s kids and families. Kidmo and Super Summer Spectacular are my passions and it gives me so much joy to watch our kids grow in their relationship with God and then with their peers and teachers.
I’ve lived in Oregon almost all of my life (I was born in Germany – my dad was in the Air Force) and I absolutely love it here. I love how we have the changing of the seasons, that we can travel to the high dessert or beach within three hours and that the beautiful Columbia River Gorge is in our backyard. I also love the rain, yes I’m a true Oregonian. I’ve been married to my wonderful husband David for 15 years and we have two amazing kids – Alex who is 12 and entering 7th grade and Emma who is 9 and is a big 4th grader this year. I enjoy reading, camping, Chai tea and spending time with my family and friends. I don’t enjoy bike riding but attempt it for my family (though when I go along it’s not exercise for anyone but me). I think that purple is the best color in the rainbow and that chocolate is the perfect food. I moved to Oregon when I was 10. I have to say I do love the Northwest. I met my husband (Chris) after high school and we married about 2 years later. I have 2 beautiful boys Nigel and Zane. We enjoy having fun together as a family playing games, backpacking, hiking, and pretty much anything that is outdoors. I love to cook and changing up recipes to make them healthier. I also enjoy reading, gardening, and biking. We started attending Abundant Life in August of 2003. Shortly after having my second son in 2004 I began teaching on Sunday evenings. I’ve always had a love for children and as a young girl thought I would someday be a teacher. I taught on Sunday nights until we switched to Saturday nights. I took a short break from teaching and came back in the fall to teach kindergarten. Within a few months I became a Team Leader to oversee the 10 a.m. service for preschool. As God grew me I became more confident in my ability to lead others, and I also took on running Wednesday morning craft prep for the preschoolers. God has continued to grow me as I have looked to Him for direction. When I was approached by Josh to be the Director of Early Childhood I was a little dumbfounded and not sure if I was the right person for the job. Through much prayer I feel I’m right where God wants me and I feel so blessed to be part of this awesome team. I know that God has a lot more for me to learn but am excited for this journey and helping others along the way to grow closer to God.

I started in children's ministry 10 years ago to check out the infant room for my new daughter and I have been there ever since! Actually, I know God has a great plan for my life and it is no accident I am here. When I received my bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies (with an emphasis in Early Childhood), I did not expect it use it so extensively in ministry and I'm so excited God has blessed me with this opportunity each week. There are so many thing I love about ministry like the joy on a child's face when they share with their parents what they learned, the smile on a teachers face when they help a child, seeing the children sing praises, hearing laughter coming from a classroom and teaching the children how much God loves them. I also love to make the connection with parents and volunteers each week.
I have been married to TJ for 14 great years and love to partner with him in ministry. Together we are involved in marriage mentoring, leading a life group, financial classes and music. We also educate our children together.
He does the messy science stuff one day a week while I get to spend time on children's ministry. We have three children, Madison-10, Will-8, and Caden-6. We love spending time as a family traveling, camping, hiking, wrestling together and telling stories. When I am not with my family, I enjoy fitness, anything in the sun, reading and spending time with my friends.

I grew up in Portland and received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary education from the University of Portland and have previously taught Kindergarten, 4th and 5th grade. God has blessed me with the opportunity to work with kids at the elementary level here at ALC. I have a passion for teaching kids not only about Jesus but how to share Jesus with others. My husband Scott and I have been married seven years. We enjoy whitewater rafting, kayaking, hiking and watching basketball together. We have one beautiful daughter together and LOVE watching her grow and learn new things. Other than hanging out with friends and family, I enjoy singing, dancing, swimming and spending time in the sunshine!

I have three amazing men in my life, my husband, George and our two sons, David and Mark. I love to read and usually have about 3 books (different genres) going at once. My favorite place to vacation is Disneyland. That place just makes me smile! I am very organized which sometimes drives my family crazy because I can’t stand things out of place. I am, what some might call, a picky eater. I don’t like to venture very far outside of my little box. After years of volunteering in Children's Ministry, I was asked to come on staff and I believe it was a gift from God and part of His amazing plan for my life. I love my job in Children’s Ministries at Abundant Life Church, and I feel blessed to be part of this amazing team.
